Idencorp’s
four bag suspension system was developed during the early 1990’s over a two year period working with Firestone suspension engineers.
The proof of the excellence of the final product was test
driving by the head of Firestone Industrial who was one of
the designers of the original one bag GMC suspension. He had personally owned three GMC motor homes and had extensive experience with the original factory
design.
This top
Firestone engineer was very enthusiastic about the greatly improved rear end stability and congratulated Idencorp on the four bag design concept. We were assigned our onw part number for the Firestone air bag kit.
Included in the kit:
- Two ¼ inch steel laser cut, tig welded brackets with powder coat finish. (Guaranteed for the life of the Motor Home for the original owner.)
- Four Firestone Air Bags (which are readily available at most RV stores)
- Two aluminum manifolds with three ball valves and stainless steel pressure gage and Schrader valves (in case your air pump does not work)
- ¼ inch DOT approved air lines
- Grade 8 bolts
- Road debris shields for the air bags that increase safety beyond the original General Motors production design (new feature at no added cost)
Shipping weight for the complete kit is 57 lbs., engineered to save as much carrying capacity as possible for the coach while still providing the best and most proven four bag suspension available.
The components come completely assembled for easy installation and take approximately 2 hours per side to
install.
These components have been tested and proven by
engineers and consumers for over a decade. They are engineered and designed right for the job – meaning all of the parts are of the thicknesses and weights that maximize performance.
After initial installation the air bags will " Break in " after 200 miles for the perfect ride.
When compared to the over-priced ($1475.), under-engineered and over-weight copies that are being attempted, the performance of the original four bag suspension system
excels.
